Well said is right,realize I am late for Memorial day-got to get on here more-but was at work that day and listening to radio,made me think of all the guys and gals that have served.We are North America and I personally thk the US for there efforts.

Just because he made the point that Canada is a great nation, too, doesn't in any way, shape or form take away from the US (and he even said as much!)

I have tried to refrain...HE ASKED A QUESTION of BEING UNIQUE..then QUESTIONED AGAIN! It was answered. And, it still was in bad taste in his timing.

And by the way Silver, YES WE DO HAVE MARINES IN THE CONGO! Our troops are in every part of the WORLD. Half of the places we do not even hear about. And if you look carefully I never said another country was not there, they do come to the aid, but in the norm of things..we have to be the ones that take the HEAT. You rephrased and asked if we think we are the ONLY ONES? but that was not the original question. And never did I say CANADA did nothing. I said I have always saw us as 2 countries working side by side...

Silvers next response was after changing the wording of the original question:

It was a poor thing to say on Memorial Day..and yes Silver we remember ours everyday, but this particular day is TRIBUTE just as you in Candada have your special rememberance days.

The man wanted a response he asked for a response and he got one...now no one is mad or upset..just saying what was asked of us.

I hope that lays things to rest , but got a feeling there will be something else said.

No.

Asking if we think we're unique is exactly the same thing as asking if we think we're the only ones...

He was just wondering if we think we're the only "good samaritan" nation out there. The first question was that we were unique in that characteristic. It's the exact same question.

And the answer is no, we are not unique in that regard. There are other nations that can also be counted on to be "good samaritans". Canada is one.

Pointing that out in no way diminishes the US or our accomplishments. It just notes that credit is due to other nations as well. And that citizens of other nations have a right to be proud of their homeland, too.
