On Monday I was helping some neighbors hired help work some calves. this is a husband and wife team about early 30's and really nice young couple, a pleasure to work with. Megan was working the calf table as she normally does and had just turned out a large bull calf about 600# with horns about 4" long. Well as it was Monday we didnt have the saw or guillotine along to take off the bigger horns.No one was aware of this older bull calf. We were done working him and turned him out into another pen but didnt close the gate so the rest could join him. Another one was coming into the chute. So we assumed the small bull had stayed where he went behind us out of the way. Anyway he made a special effort to come back and hook Megan just above her right pant pocket and mashed her into the calf table. When I got to her she had limped out of the pen and was by the truck with her husband trying to see how bad she was hurt. Since I was an emt she decided to show me and I got her packaged and into my truck and headed the 45 miles to town. She had a tear about 3 inches long, all the way to her pelvic bone deep. After the ER she went into exploratory sugery to check for organ damage. She had no organ damage and is coming home today. I'm glad the Lord was watching us that day and wants her back with all of us.
