Beef Achievement Day

Our Club had its 4-H Achievement Day on Saturday. I managed to get back and take some pics:

This was just a pic of the brand. All the steers are from Hivalley Limousin or out of a HiValley Bull.

And lastly a group shot:

Our club also showed its first ever heifer. Didn't realise that I only got one pic of it...will upload it later.

Those kids have done a fine job of feeding and gentling their projects. :wink:

They are to be commended. :tiphat:

Here is a pic of the heifer:

No. They will be sold at the Williams Lake Show and Sale in a month. They have the four weeks til then to put some more feed into them, work their hair and clip them better and train them for the show ring. They should have hair similar to the yellow ones and then clip the guard hairs off. Should be interesting to see them in a month.

Be sure and post more pictures of the big show.

They are looking really nice but a month of good feed should really put a bloom on them.

lookin good ,who was your judge?- the pen of four steers will be hard to beat i realy like seeing a strong hind quarter that those steers have

Sylvia was the judge. You can see her head poking over the steers in the fourth pic.

Warning from an old Leader, the trim chute will kill some one without having a floor. I do believe in the picture there is no floor, could be a running accident.

CA - I'd agree but I do see a grate / mess floor in there. Being from Saskatchewan - I think it is because we are just used to everything being *above* grass height :lol:

canadian angus you need glasses there is a floor in there .although a ply wood bottom under the grated mesh would be better

Yep. There is a grate thing under there. We learned that lesson when a plyboard we were using went missing once.

Yes. I will be there for beef day and possibly the sat and sun before.

But the grass is there to cover the bottom up?

No. The long grass was just cut before they put the thing there so it's just sticking through the bottom.
