boots for ice

I wear a pair of "Britt Colt" Muck books. They are the style made for riding with a fairly smooth sole but I haven't fallen YET.

They are more flexible at the ankle then the other models.

It is treacherous out there. The road in front out the houses out to the barn is a sheet of ice after these nice days.

Wilson leather boots with lace-up LaCrosse overboots. When LaCrosse was going out of business, I bought four pair of their lace-up boot overshoes to have on hand. I like them better than the Servus brand that is available now.

thank-you folk's for all of the reply's. i have to do something, as the nice days and the high wind of a few days ago have given my yard curling rink status. thanx again

Oh if that's the problem you had better invite per up to sweep for you.

size 15 arctic muck boots are the best i've found have slp on ice stud rubber bands or ice chains if i m changing foot wear during the day i:e using hikers or runners.

delivered hay to a lady who also has a tack shop/feed store, she was selling muck boots, so after all of the good reports i got the night before on rancher's i bought a pair of muck chore. have been wearing them for about a week now and have no complaints. thank-you again for everybody's input

I've had 2 pair of Bogs Ropers that I really liked except they cracked right at the ball of my foot on the side. I tried Muck boots next and they have stood up pretty good but they are taller and not quite as handy getting on and off as the Bogs. Last spring I did need the extra height offered with the Muck boots.

With all the ice here I fell twice each day for two days so I went to town and bought the last pair of slip on rubber/spring ice grippers.

Ace hardware had the last pair in town and the cashier told me they had been selling for $9.99 but when the ice hit the boss raised them to $23.99

This kind of pissed me off but I felt this was cheaper than a trip to the hospital so I got them.

I wore them so much that in two weeks I have about worn them out. But the footing was great and I will buy a new pair this fall just to have on hand!

They slip on and off very easily and can be kept in a caot pocket making them very easy to keep handy.

I figure a guy as handy in the shop as you are would have put Studs in his boot or made a set of chains.
