Our 4H leader just called because of their incompetance 21 4H kids won't be going to Agribition we had 13 rooms booked and garanteed with a credit card and they just let us know today that they let them go.

I think it goes to sorry and careless help they hire.

Each and every time I'm in Casper and stay @ the Parkway Plaza...it's a freaking fiasco!!

The college makes the reservations...by the time I get there....they act like they never heard of the Casper College let alone little ol' me. Then it's 15 minutes of, " You're not from here are you?"

Cattle Army, I doubt that is/was the problem ,the problem is that we have to many dummies having jobs in this economy that would normally be unemployable.

I am sure the problems are from someone NOT doing their job correctly and the hotels don't care because they are full all the time anyways.

It will change as soon as it starts to slow done and then the customer/client will be treated with respect again.

And what Kola said ,, ya posted while I was.

Maybe trouble with the credit card???
A credit card only holds the room they're not used until the rooms are.

More then likely its a common practice of overbooking, grrr this has happened to us a number of times when we've traveled with mine rescue in a large group. Has NEVER happened when we book just one room for ourselves.I think they prob couldn't gouge a 4-H club like they could some other bookers. :?

Nope it wasn't my credit card so there wasn't any problems lol. The Makwa 4H club found out the hotel that took their reservations this summer isn't built yet lol-what next. Sounds like their headed to the 'JAW too. I really hate Regina at the best of times-the best part is the ring road that takes you around it on the way to Montana lol.

It's not just Howard Johnson - - - We took my son to Disney World for his 5th birthday ( he's 27 now ) and an adopted sister and her new husband living in Miami met us there and we shared a town house owned by Disney with them it was $250.00 a night which was outragous back then but we split it and reserved it for 2 nights and got a 3 day Disney package with it all on credit card.

We checked in and went to Disney the first day - - - the park closed at 1:00AM and we went to breakfast before going back to the Townhouse. The next day we went to Epcot Center and stayed till closing again. When we went back to the Townhouse I unlocked the door and went in and found a woman undressing in the living room. She started screaming and after it calmed down we called the reservation desk and were told we needed to come to them.

When we got there we were told the resort was over booked and they called each room at 11:00PM and any unoucupied were given to new guests - - - they had put all belongings in trash bags and told us to leave. I started to raise hell and they called the Orlando police - - -My wife, sister and son were all crying begging me to just leave so we did.

When we seperated the belongings all the souviners my son had gotten at Disney were gone. We never got them back and it took over a month to get the room charge for the second night refunded. I was so mad I drove half way across Georgia before stopping for the night. We never did get a refund for the third day that we did not use!

No one in my family has ever gone there since and I still will not even on a bet.

My wife and sister called and wrote letters asking for an appoligy and we have never gotten even a single "I'm sorry" of any kind!

You shouldn't boycott Howard Johnsons, you should stay someplace else and then honor them with your presence at their Continental breakfast.

gee I allway get treated great at the Parkway...

For many years I have reserved rooms for FFA Conventions. Depending on what city honors the convention does make a difference.
I have and other have had great luck getting rooms on oour own rather than going to their (FFA) housing center.
With 21 kids going some hotels are asking now for an adult per room and may cancel out. You can bargin directly with the motel NOT over the internet. Internet companys are very high. I have got rooms half price and guarntee on my own credit card from the hotel direct. Go back the same hotel/motel each year if you can they appreciate it. Only use internet to get the hotel phone and location you want.
Do not know if that will help but motels have to honor the guarantee and find you another hotel near by might be 40 miles away that has happened to some.
Try to get those kids to the trip you told them they can go on they will never forget or forgive you

Maybe I need to take you with me next time!!!

With the FFA conventions being in Indianapolis I hope you are well taken care of.

I agree with getting rooms on your own. Case in point the GWRRA ( GoldWing Road Riders Assn. ) gave us contacts to get rooms but a friend and I felt we could not go to their rally - -- - at the last minute we were able to go and just hoped for a room.

When we got there we drove into the motel Larry went in while I stayed with the bikes. As he waited in line he heard a couple check in and when he got to the front of the line and ask if GWRRA rooms were available and was quoted a higher price. He said what is the deal and was told all GWRRA members had to pay a higher price as the motel had to pay GWRRA for being the "Host Motel".

He said well I'm not with them just ask as the sign out front welcomed the GWRRA. We got the room at the lower price and used this info in the future, yes it seems the GWRRA demands a kick back the the facility given the official host status. I have been told this is common but I only know of this one organization.

We've never stayed at the Parkway, but one time spent the night in Chadron and had breakfast the next morning at the Parkway Plaza in Casper. They served good food and the waitress was friendly. The only problem I encountered was getting semi-lost trying to find the restroom. Being a country bumpkin, I felt like a mouse in a maze. :-)

I have stock growers and other group and board meetings at the Parkway. Probably spend 7 to 12 days there a year. Think its neat when long term staff calls you by name when I am there. I.e. the banquet bar tenders, the security people , but then I sell silk rags at the Dec meetings.
