We're headed to Houston with the livestock judging team next month. I was curious as to if there's any producers who have some information on talking about hump and sheath structure and colors and how to properly describe those things. Thank you.

Really doubt if you see a Brahman in the contest. Brings a possible but they need to look like angus. The brama can be first in class this week and 45 th next week and still be considered a good one. Enjoy the trip!

When I was judging they taught us that "brahman want to be good cattle too" So just them the same and talk them the same.

On the note of talking about them the same, it's true that we pretty well evaluate them the same. We had slick American steers at San Antonio last week and they were fall down easy to line up. But we'll get some purebred Brahman bulls or heifers in the contest at Houston with some data. Basically just throwing in that apparently there's good and bad hump structure and talk a little extra about sheaths with the cactus and brush issues where they run those eared cattle down there.
