Is there anybody who tests for PAP in Canada-there's a bull we'd like to market in the U'S I'd like to test for it. Our website is just about ready to go-already sold some semen though.

Brisket is a real problem in any altitudes above, I believe, 6000 feet.
The only area I know that tests thoroughly is Colorado and Wyoming. I had a bull one time that never showed brisket (not PAP tested) that was raised at about 4500 feet but when we moved him to 8000 he never sired a calf that made it to yearling. The PAP test is probably a good idea but the demand for semen to be used over 6000 feet is probably very limited.

We don't run at elevation but know a lot of folks that do. Running at least 5000 feet for a month used to be bare minimum for PAP testing. The higher the better also the longer and older the more accurate the test. Dr. Tim Holt at CSU does a lot of the testing in the US and knows a lot about it. A great guy and worth talking to if you have questions.

By the way NR your old buddy EXT was one of the best ever at elevation. They could chase you forever and never get winded :D

PAP testing doesn't guarantee, but is a useful tool.

This calf has been "off", and I suspect he's a brisket. He was one of the nicest calves out of the heifers...now he's one of the worst
