Calving Officially Starts!

First calf off the main bunch of cows-the cows a baldie off an 8020 daughter and the calf is of all things a black south devon.
 
It seems odd to hear about you just starting calving...but I know your seasons are later than us...we're getting excited just to have about 20 head left to calve! Sure hope you have a great season. Good Luck
 
How do we know that calving in spring/summer in sync with Mother Nature works you may ask? When there's nothing else to do but walk around snapping pictures of the fresh ones. I love it. We've had 3 now, just 'cause they're ones we bought from Rkaiser that were bred earlier. Our main herd won't start until about May 15th.

No S.R.R., the first 3 are Galloways. We don't have any Welsh.
