Canada Says Probe in Mad Cow Case Shows Negative BSE Results
Feb. 11 (Bloomberg) -- The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said a probe in the latest case of mad cow disease in the country showed animals found linked to the ailing beef cow didn't have bovine spongiform encephalopathy, the formal name of the disease.

The agency said 349 animals were tracked in the investigatin after the mad cow case was confirmed on Jan. 11. Of that number, 41 were found alive, then killed and tested negative for BSE, the Ottawa-based agency said in a statement. The disease may have been transmitted in animal feed, the government said.
