Canoe accident

I just finished reading the post below about the young man killed in the baler accident. Another tradgedy that happened over the weekend was a canoe accident near Belle Fourche.

An 8 year old girl was the only survivor of the accident which killed her father, sister,and a family friend. She walked 2 miles to the highway for help.

Certainly a very brave and very tough 8 yr old girl. Probably many grown men in excellent physical condition could not do what she did.

Sad deal but it's amazing what kids can do and handle. We had a deal here a couple years back where a header fell on the Dad's leg the little girl stayed with him to keep him company while the little boy drove a truck to find help. It was strange territory for the boy but he put the truck into 4 wheel drive and got some help.
