Our MLAs office hosted a banquet for the Century farms in the area in conjunction with the Vermilion Fair. We were invited as we are 1906, and on the 6th generation.
The Cake was 4' x 6'

We went to Fort Edmonton the next day. It is an original Hudson Bay fur trading post. The trail that the Red River carts took from Fort Edmonton to Fort Battleford goes through the field south of our house...

Congrats on the Century Ranching award! We recieved something like that during the state fair in 2000. In a era when ranching seems to be headed for extinction, it's great to see folks sticking with it! The fort is simply awesome. I love history. The fur trade was quite the adventure. Thank you for letting me gawk! :D

Looks like you been livin' it up and a good time had by all.

Glad to see you did find time to work a little though

Dad finally got around to applying for it this summer, ours was settled in the mid 1800's, my youngins' are the 7th generation here. History can be pretty cool, looks like you got lots of it your way.

The advantage of having grandparents from away is that you actually take the time to visit some of the relatively local and neat stuff that you would never do without an outside perspective... :D
