A lady from our area was killed last year by a wild cow. She worked at
an auction barn and was behind the gate when a ringy old cow came
down the alley, hit the gate, knocked the lady flat and killed her.
So, be careful of what you take to the auction market. Perhaps warn the
yard folks that you have a wild one...

Speaking of sale barns. I was at a weigh up cow sale Friday, and it seamed like two out of three cows that came threw were on the fight. Don,t know if it was the change in weather or the yard help but normally it don,t seam that bad. I think the nations cow herd is just getting worse, some of it is genetic and some of it is environment, and some of it's breeders that think they have to sell 300 bulls on a sale so they don't have time to handle them. I don't mean making show bulls out of them either. Back years ago when I when I worked on a couple purebred outfits we would halter the bulls and tie them up two or three times, and all it did was get them used to people. One other thing we did was the last two day's before the sale the bulls got run threw the ring with a loud radio playing. How would like to do that with 300 head.
