Flyby experiences:
1. A local was a Marine Corps pilot flying Phantoms. On one of his cross country trips he came down low to say hi to the town and his parents. I was driving an open platform Hesston windrower and he came up from behind me, about 30 feet to my left, waved and grinned as he went by. He called me that night to say hi, I informed him he owed me a new pair of blue jeans as mine were now brown. Those suckers really make a noise that close and at 350 kts.
2. Driving to Las Cruces on the road north of Tularosa near Three Rivers I saw what I thought was a truck coming my way. A few seconds later it was a fighter 30' off the deck, upside down, with the pilot waving at me.
3. The Colo. Nat. Guard F16s fly low and fast through our area once in a while. One came close enough to me to rock the pickup a few years ago.
4. When driving highway 10 from Walsenburg to La Junta you see C130s, B52s, C119s, flying low and fast in training runs. Not as much as they used to since one found a hill a few years ago.
