Our corrals are in need of work, and we want to incorporate a scale and a loading chute (neither of which we have right now). So are looking for ideas. What do you have/ or have seen, what works good, what doesn't. Thanks :)

This is a layout that works real well for us.

Cattle go from 2 section pasture into a 3 acre trap south of the trees, then shut a wire gate and load the corral along the tree break into the alley and any corral we want. The alley is usually left open so that they are used to going thru it to the pasture.

I'd build them out of portable drillstem steel panels then you can change them if there's something you don't like-every few years you can move them and do some leveling etc if need be and if you ever decide you want them somehere else just load and go. I'd go six feet high now that you have Angus cattle kicking around.

and after you build it and run cattle through it you will want to redo things. Be flexible and don't build it too small.
