Remember Sinapu, that nutty bunch of enviro-wackos who tried to get the GF&P trapper from Harding County fired when he accidentally killed a wolf in the Slim Buttes?

The trapper was called in because something had killed several calves and everyone thought it was coyotes since they were really thick. The trapper set some M44's and came back to check them the next day. He did find a dead coyote. Unfortunately he also found a very large, and very dead, wolf!

Sinapu also wanted the GF&P Conservation Officer fired for the high crime of having his picture taken with the dead wolf! DNA tests on the carcass showed that the wolf had come from Minnesota, and not one of the re-introduced Canadian wolves the USFW had released into Yellowstone several years before.

Sinapu is at it again. They and several other nutty groups like Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER), Beyond Pesticides, Forest Guardians, Predator Defense, Western Wildlife Conservancy, Sierra Club, The Rewilding Institute, Animal Defense League of Arizona, and Animal Welfare Institute have filed a petition requesting that the Environmental Protection Agency issue a Notice of Intent to Cancel the registration of M-44 sodium cyanide capsules and sodium fluoroacetate (commonly known as compound 1080)

Docket # EPA-HQ-OPP-2007-0944, the Petition to Issue a Notice of Intent to Cancel the Registrations of M44 Sodium Cyanide Capsules and Sodium Fluoroacetate.

M44s, what we call "coyote getters", are a very effective predator control tool and that's what the trapper was using when he got that calf killing wolf.

Chase Adams had information about this on his KBHB radio show Saturday and gave the website to find information about the petition. It is http://www.regulations.gov

I urge you to comment if you want to save one of the few predator eliminating devices we have left.

The comment period is open until January 15, 2008. You can comment online or send them by mail to:
