Drought Over For A Bit

Water is running over #4 highway just south of town tonight-the little creeks that drain into the lake are all over their banks. I've only seen water over that road a couple times.
 
Talked to a guy just across the boarder north of Opheim and he said they have gotten nearly 9 inches of rain the last few weeks!!! That has got to be close to the total moisture they get in a year. I bet the grass will be great up there for a change.

You said it, the last few years we haven't gotten more than 4 or 5 inches.

But even with that, we could be in pretty desperate straights by the end of June if it were to quit..... Favorite saying in the area is that 'we're only 3 weeks away from a drought at any time' ....

This is backwater creek about three miles upstream from where that floodwater is headed it runs through about 3/4 mile of my pasture alot of water coul;d back up into there but it will raise cain with the Canada thistle.
