Very interesting.
What is the plant being grown?
Is the planting done by machine?
What in the world do you do with all that plastic after the crop is matured?

A lot of stuff being grown on plastic everywhere, and becoming very popular here in Ontario. Lots of labor required but not much or any herbicide. It's pretty impressive seeing ten or twenty acres under strips like that, especially when you realize how much manual labor is involved!

The Old Order Mennonites and Amish nearby are starting to grow a lot of market garden stuff that way, lots of hard, back-bending hand labor but BIG returns per acre. They also can utilize black muck areas that one couldn't farm conventionally.

Pickles and melons grow in our garden on plastic.
