Veggie soup. Man that stuff will cure anything. Just use lots of tomatoes.

Good Whiskey, and lots of it. And no, don't drink the "chunky" stuff.

Nothing will break a fever and relieve the aches of a flu better than a hot whiskey:

couple shots of good whiskey in a cup
fill with hot water
Put in a spoonful or two or big squirt of honey
Stir- Drink- and after a couple go crawl under the covers and just sweat every bug you have out...Be cured when you wake up

Some add nutmeg or clove
or brown sugar
or lemon

That's right!

Works as a "Preventative" too!

Mom always gave us the "Good Stuff" too. "OLD CROW".

The Mexican guy who works for me told me last winter that the cure to my cold was a couple or a half dozen shots of Tequila before bed... Well, I kept it on the tame side with two shots and it really helped me sleep and I seemed to get healthy quick... Maybe it was just a good excuse to drink some Tequila... Sniff, sniff... think I'm getting a cold

Sorry guys no whiskey on this raw stomach..... Bought a buick all day yesterday. :gag: Bama I did make some vegtable soup, but I put some brocolli in it and it stinks so bad I might have to give it to the cats....

Hope you get better quick Katrina-- But since the idea arose I might just drink your hot toddies for you- I think I feel a chill coming on...   Could be because I'm sitting here in my shorts :D

Temp was about 15-20 all day and with the NW wind the windchill felt like 20 Below- so I dug out the carharts and furry cap- which worked up such a sweat I just shed everything when I came in....

Get well, Katrina. I made some Tom and Jerry Mix and it really helps with a cold....don't know about the stomach flu, tho

3 eggs separated
2 lbs. powdered sugar
pinch of cream of tartar
jigger of whatever booze you will be using.

Beat egg whites until stiff, add egg yolk, one at a time, slowly add 1 lb powdered sugar, add the pinch of cream of tartar and jigger of booze (this helps to preserve the mix), then slowly add the remaining 1 lb powdered sugar. Keep refrigerated, when you want to use it place a mug of water in the microwave, heat to hot, add 1 oversized tablespoon of the T & J mix, add however much booze (whiskey or blended whiskey works best) you want  Enjoy!

Glad you liked the cloud biscuits, made them the other day and put sausage and country gravy over them MMMMMmmmmmmmmm!!! I make big biscuits for the gravy, and then I made little 1-1/2 inch biscuits to cut in half and put some butter and jelly/jam on them and you can just pop the whole thing in your mouth. MMMMmmmmmmm!

Flu is no fun, Katrina. But maybe you'll be immune for the rest of the year. Hope you're feeling brand new in the morning.

I took a vanilla cake mix and dumped in 1/4 cup of mayo (actual mayo cuz I had no eggs) 1/4 tsp of pumpkin pie spice and 2 cups of apple sauce. Cooked as per box instructions and man was it good! When it cooled I served it with applesauce on the top and whipped cream . Tasty little snack :)Man I hope the snowplows get down here soon. Once you start experimenting things can get out of hand
