As I am sitting here in my pick-up truck waiting for a first calver have her calf I have plenty of time think (something that can be dangerous at times). How many of you are out tonight sitting in a truck or on a bale of straw or hay nurse maiding cows and calves I know I am not alone. But I can't help but think how blessed we are as rancher/farmers to witness the mircle of life. I also can help but think that if all the animal right groups got this honor to see and help with this great gift do you think their perspective of the beef world would change? Personally I can't see how anyone that sees this first hand could have a negitive outlook on life. Well mom just pop out junior so I guess I had better quite rambling and take care of the little guy we have a winter warning again tonight. :D :D

I agree we do it because it's in our blood. But the activists mind set is that we wouldn't be out here saving these calves and caring for our livestock if and I quote, "they weren't worth any money."

Yes we do it to make a living but we are all out there working for the livestock whether they are worth $5 or $5000. We take joy in the producing and raising these animals. It is a specail way of life and we are all lucky to be part of it! :tiphat:

Howdy

Great posts, both of you. Kinda funny what a person thinks about out there alone at night.

They call it (Animal Husbandry) for a reason I bet I spend more time with them than I do my wife.
