here is an email I received on the KSU NU games after we were accused of running up the score. not wanting to pick a fight, just showing some facts.

In 2002 Kansas St. wins 49-13, Nebraska fans cry about Kansas St. leaving their starters in and running up the score. Kansas St. won that day by 36 points.

Jiggs, what qualifies running up the score is generally who did the scoring. In 2002, Snyder never took his starters out. You were ahead by 30 and we were even clearing our benches, yet Snyder kept the first units in. We weren't the only ones he did that to.

Those scores you showed were Osborne years. He was good about taking his starters out when the score got up there. I can remember many games where the guys on the radio couldn't tell you who just made a play because they weren't on the 3-deep lists they had.

I think it was 1997 when Arizona St. blamed T.O. for running up the score when we hung something like 66 points on them. The reality is that our starters never played past the first series of the third quarter, we only scored 14 points in the entire second half, and the last touchdown was our 3rd string QB throwing to a 4th string TE.

but the Arizona State thing came back to bite him in the ash the next year!

with the history of KSU, I see no need to apologize to any team we run the score on....

I honestly would be happy with a 100 - 3 victory over NU. but then again, I am a bit biased!

When I went to Northwestern we had this isse when we got good for a while under Barnett. I remember when we beat Wisconsin something like 35-0 orsomething like that we kept our starters in the whole game and I heard a few Badger fan complaining about that... Something about a team that consistantly gets battered for years coming back and beating one of the old batteres realy rubs the fan of the looser the wrong way.. Mostly Northwestern would just take a knee at the end of games and run the ball up th middle over and over again... Of course now they have an exuse to try to score with every possession because god know they can't stop anyone.

Defending your team about who ran up the score on you is just what I wanted to hear with Auburn playing the Huskers in a few weeks..........

When the smoke clears I don't wanna hear any whining about US running up the score.

you will be ok Mike, they are the self proclaimed , best fans around.

I once had a little old lady all decked out in red flip me off at a KSU / NU game.

Sproles broke free for a 70 yard touchdown, and I was jumping up and down and she turns around and says "remember the 80's" and flew her bird!
