You can get a free email account with the address [email protected] These are gmail accounts hosted by google.com with a huge 2gig mailbox. You may never have to delete an email again. And with Google searching you can find any old email instantly. The spam filter is exceptional. This address will stick with you even when you change ISPs. You can even use Outlook or other email program to download your email instead of using webmail if you wish. I have had a gmail account for over a year and have been very pleased with it. I think if you try one you will like it.

If you have any questions just ask them here.

If you would like a free account PM me your desired account name (i.e.- [email protected]) and your name or ranch name that you want to appear in the address box (i.e. - Mike Smith or Bar V Ranch). You can change the password any time you are logged in.

There is a free Flash tour here:
http://www.google.com/mail/help/tour/start.html

Also anyone with one of these accounts can chat in real time with anyone else with an account if you wish.[/b]

Thanks Macon. I'm real happy with the email account that I have, but I sure appreciate your doing this.

Are there any advatages to this vs. what I already have? Or is it just that it's bigger?

Most people use gmail, Hotmail and Yahoo! accounts as an extra add on type account that they use in public places and use their regular account for private mail. But more people are starting to use gmail as a primary account because of the huge mailbox and excellent spam filter. Spam messages are automatically deleted when they are 30 days old so they don't fill up the box. And you keep copies of email that are years old because you don't have to worry about your box filling up. And with the ability to download to Outlook it's no problem to have more than one email address. Both addresses' emails are all in your Outlook. Plus you have a copy in your gmail box that you can access from anywhere in the world years from now.

I wouldn't recommend switching from your old address. If you think you might like an additional address give it a try. If you don't think you need it, you probably don't!

:D

OK, thanks Macon.

Hows the lovely Mrs. Macon? Hope you folks are doing well.

Looks like you'd drop in once in awhile and keep us all updated as to what all you folks been doin'. :)

When you going to come out and visit? :-)

Ok, now that I have an account, we need to all get together and let each other know what our user names are, so that if we want to use the chat feature we can add each other to the Chat thing.

What's yours so I can put you on my chat thingy :)

I love your site. You have put seversl hours in this. Have had a computer
for a year now . Have done 2 web sites. Nothing fancy .Sure is fun.(most of the time).I have so much to learn.
I like the sounds of the E Mail. Mine is Outlook Express . is good. but I get a lot of junk mail, to click out. Does this block all of the adds.? My dial up is also little slow.

It blocks 90%+ junk mail. I also use Thunderbird which has a great spam filter built in. It gets about 75% Since my email address is all over the 'net I get over 300 emails a day, mostly spam. Gmail gets a lot more than even Thunderbird.

Outlook Express has no span filter and doesn't get any.

Looks like I'm about ready to take the "plunge" and sign up, too.......and will try to talk my dad into it, when we go set up his computer tomorrow.

He's just about beside himself, and I'm sure he'd fit right in, here! Besides being an old cowboy, he's also into the cowboy poetry, and is quite a good performer in his own right, and gettin better all the time!

Will let ya'll know what I come up with, after we get him all signed up, if he's on for it......I've emailed myself the address for this site, so I can get him into it tomorrow.........keep your fingers crossed that it all works out!
