Time to move closer to the corral for load out later this week. Looking across the river at a neighboring ranch.

Good vantage point to take pictures and spot cattle.

A few of my younger cows about 50 miles east closer to the farm.

Hope I didn't shame ya into hiding pictures of your horse! Sure a pretty place you live pal! Can I come visit someday? I could bring ya a goat! :D

If you keep threatening people like that you won't be welcome anywhere.

Except Haymakers.

Bring the wife and kids, leave all the livestock at home. You could pick up Justins goat on the way back.

Per, if you had the extra grass there, how many years out of ten could you possibly leave those cows rustling all winter? They look good.
Not sure what happened there.
I have a few friends grazing year round. With enough grass I would be fairly confident to go 7 out of 10. It would mean May June calving and using up a little more back fat than I would like to get the other 3. Having a farm and the residues from it and farm equipment gives me some options as far as swath grazing and bunch grazing as well as a plentiful supply of barley if need be. We also seed fall rye and have plenty of tame grasses. I sometimes say I wish I could do that and my next door neighbor at the ranch sometime says he wishes he had the advantages of the farm. :?

Like I have said before Per, you truly live in Gods country. It must be a great thing to look out and see all that every day. Next time I am down your way believe me I am going to look you up and demand a tour of your beautiful place , your cattle and have a nice visit with you in person. :)

BTW love the horse ..

That looks like whitetail deer heaven per. Awesome country. If I ever make it up that way I'm bringing my sticks and we'll play a little golf and visit about cattle. Could even call it a business trip. 8)

Amazing backdrop but I guess your cows are more interested in whats between their feet than the scenery. Does a man's soul good to look out on the mountains though - I miss not having a view.
