...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH
LATE SUNDAY NIGHT..

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BILLINGS HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY EVENING THROUGH
LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.

EXPECT RAIN TO MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SNOW SATURDAY NIGHT...AND MAY
BECOME HEAVY AT TIMES THROUGH MUCH OF SUNDAY NIGHT. AT THIS POINT
IT IS DIFFICULT TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH SNOW WILL ACCUMULATE...DUE
TO THE WARM GROUND AND SURFACE TEMPERATURES ABOVE FREEZING...BUT
SEVERAL INCHES OF WET AND HEAVY SNOW ARE POSSIBLE. GREATEST
AMOUNTS WILL LIKELY BE OVER THE HIGHER RIDGES AND NEAR THE NORTH
DAKOTA BORDER WHERE TEMPERATURES WILL BE COLDEST. IN ADDITION TO
THE SNOW EXPECT A VERY STRONG NORTHWEST WIND...WITH GUSTS TO 50
MPH POSSIBLE FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD...FURTHER REDUCING
VISIBILITIES.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN SEVERE WINTER WEATHER IS
POSSIBLE BUT NOT IMMINENT. AT THIS TIME THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS OF WET AND HEAVY SNOW. THE COMBINATION
OF SNOWFALL AND STRONG WINDS WILL RESULT IN THE RISK OF DOWNED
TREES AND POWER LINES. THOSE IN THE AREA SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR
HAZARDOUS WINTRY CONDITIONS THIS WEEKEND. PLEASE MONITOR THE
LATEST FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS FROM THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE.

It was 69 here this AM and I was hunting for my jacket to wear to the cow pasture!!!

Holy smokes that weather perdiction sounds a wee bit early...even for you guys!!

I baled 40 acres of hay yeasterday and I have the last 35 to do today then I am done. They are forecasting rain for the next week so I will have to get some bales moved out of the low areas.I do have a little 2nd cutting I may mow in a week or so can never have too much hay.I guess summer's about over.

We had a similar warning, but not the accumulation predicted. But now the warning is gone. The central Idaho mtns got a dusting I guess. And they need it as they are all on fire!

This is today's forecast...my fingers and toes are crossed!! :D :D

A Little rain coming down here- most of it is still just west of us...100% chances for today...Temp was down to 45.....

Nothing here yet, but what a deal we have to look foreward to.
We had a bad storm last Oct. 10. That was early enough, but this
is really ridiculous.

It's the wind that will cause the problems, of course.
Neighbor was going to precondition his calves tomorrow. I sure
wouldn't if I were him.

Grrr,Sept. 15 and half the highways in Alberta have travel advisories,"Stay off highways....BAD snowfall. We still just have steady rain{three days now}and bad wind, but snows supposed to hit us later this afternoon."I love fall in Alberta :?"

We've got .4 so far today- still misting out...Rains a little, then quits, then starts in again...Its up to 55 degrees now- the warmest I saw all day....

While I was at the courthouse this morning the weather boys were meeting with the law enforcement...They are thinking the big danger this weekend could be from the heavy wet snow and high winds taking down power lines.......

Still nothing here yet. Not even much wind.
Overcast skies.

Still waiting...

Checking the websites and looking at the radar- it kind of looks like the fire areas around Big Timber are getting wet right now :D

We got .75" of rain this morning , almost forgot what mud was. :D Suppose to be more tonight and tomorrow. And hopefully we are done with the dry lightening for the year and can relax!

It barely settled the dust here, but there is a skift of snow in our mtns! Mike went grouse/firewood hunting with the nieghbor and it snowed on them pretty good :)

About 5:00 we got a real hard rain and wind. When it was all said and done I think we got about an inch of rain. It was real unexpected and very welcome. I am hoping everyone will get a general rain in the next couple of days.

have a cold one

lazy ace

WE had a lovely sunny day that topped out at 82 or so... Monday you ask? High of 55 and rain... Acting more like October with the ups and downs than September... Oh well, just as long as we can stay away from frost I will be happy. No frost means the grass keeps growing... Of course heavy frost means dead bugs... Hmm, I would rather the grass keep growing,

bozeman paper is calling for 6" of snow in the valleys (that would be US!!) and up to 12" in the mountains!!! Amazing to think that the kids were wearing shorts to school just 2 days ago!!

I think you have been on the sauce again FH.   You have me and lazy ace mixed up. lol.

I just got home from the local football game, and it was a beautiful evening. And day too. Only a bit of rain would make it better. But none yet.

Just razzing you.
