Good Sunday Mornin'

My cousin has a place over by Toponas, Colorado. It is south of Steamboat Springs. He is fighting snow again this winter. He is feeding with a team and sled. He has two teams, and is looking for a third as both teams are tired. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I lived in the sandhills. I worked on a place southeast of Soapweed; we fed hay with 6 Belgians abreast. It was easy to see if one was shirking. Watch the tugs, and be sure all tugs are tight. If one horse wasn't pulling his share, I "encouraged" him to lay into the task. What would happen, if every time I saw slack in the tug, I just unhitched that horse because he wasn't pulling his share? Pretty quick I couldn't move the load. Sometimes churches are willing to let people quit because they are not doing that much anyway. Folks, that ought not so to be! Be a Barnabas, and encourage others to be faithful in the work. We need to keep the team intact. This is so important! Well, have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and a good rest of the week too.

Thanks for the message, Shortgrass. What is remarkable is the power and work that can be done when all six of those horses voluntarily pull hard together. They can move a "mountain" of a haystack. People in a church can do the same.

It's snowing here at the moment and promises to be chilly wintery weather for the next few days.

Have a great week, and don't forget to drive safe and dress warm. :-)

Thanks for your message every week, Shortgrass. Great analogy about working together as a team. The cattle industry could learn a lot from a team of horses.

Ditto on all counts, Soapweed. Sometimes one person alone can't do much. Last fall our church members got together and painted the church. Took about 11 gallons of paint, a dozen tubes of caulk, and a LOT of elbow grease! Didn't take all that long either, but as they say many hands make light work. Many of the same folks and some others also painted the community hall which was about the same size job.

Light snow here now. +8 early this morning and +14 now. Didn't get as cold as I expected last night I thought it was supposed to be -10 for a low. At any rate it's not gonna get real warm for a few days though.

Thanks for your Sunday messages. Each one always hits the right spot....

Going thru what we are at this time as a family, this is so true. Each one of us seems to have taken up a "job". Mine seems to be, being the "informant". Keeping everyone updated on what's goin on with Brother In Law at the hospital. If I can save his mom, nor dad or wife from having to repeat the whole story even one time, I feel I've takin a small load off their shoulders. My phone rings quiet a bit.....both house phone and cell phone. But that's just fine with me. This next week I"ll be taking their kids (one to school and the other to day care) for them. It's a small undertaking for me. But I"m sure is monumental to the wife, knowing that she can go on and go up to the hospital to be there. We all hafta pull together and work together. Not only in situations like this, but in other stuff as well.

Thanks again for your weekly messages Shortgrass, have a great Sunday!

Thank you, Shortgrass....may God Almighty continue to grant you words to write that encourage and keep us all on the straight and narrow. Have a good week.
