We had a very active day today. We went to a funeral of a close friend and neighbor. After dinner with the family, we went to the local Cattlemen's BBQ. At the funeral, the 23rd Psalm was in the folder. The pastor talked about sheepherders. Those guys who, to this day, live in a rubbertired wagon that has a bed and stove in it. They spend day and night on the mountain with those sheep. A sheepherder literally lives with his sheep. By contrast, we cattlemen had all left our cattle and gone to the BBQ. My cows haven't been checked in 3 days. Although I care about their welfare, and am certainly due to make the rounds, those ol' girls are on their own for relatively long periods of time. If the Lord were "my cowboy", I might need to wait until next Tuesday, or whenever, for Him to discover the predicument I am in. The Lord says He is my Shepherd, so he will be there 24 - 7 to meet my needs. Don't misunderstand, I like cowboys, and some of my best friends are cowboys, and they care for their stock, but I am glad that the Lord is my "Shepherd" and lives where I do. Well have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and a great rest of the week too. (Nor do you have to "push one for English, 2 for.................  to reach Him )

That is a very interesting way to look at our relationship with the Lord. In this case, it is an honor to be a sheep because He is the best Shepherd to be had. Thanks, Shortgrass, for teaching such an important lesson in such an easy-to-understand sort of way.

I have just read a cute story about some kids learning the 23rd Psalm.
One little boy could never remember very well and when his turn came to recite it he said" The Lord is my Shepard and that's all I need to know".

I think that works. :-)

That fits perfect with the book I am reading.....Hinds Feet on High Places

The shepard is always with us even when we dont see him, he knows the best path even when we feel ts the wrong direction.

Thanks have a great day
