This Good Sunday Mornin' may belong in "Political Bull" instead of here, but this has been on my mind since Memorial Day. Our Memorial Day was spent with kids and grandkids. My SIL brought his Sunday mornin' message from Exodus 17:8-13. This is a story of a group of rag-tag slaves (Israel) armed with rocks and sticks defeating a band of renegades (the Amalekites) who made their living by raiding and looting. He made the observation that although Joshua was leading the men on the battlefield, that the battle was won or lost by the man, Moses, and his friends supporting him, on the hill who raised his rod to God. I know many of you will agree that our nation (the US) is threatened today as much or more as it has ever been by any war that we have endured. This battle, like Joshua's, will be won by men and women in their homes on their knees, or lost by neglecting our God. Our nation has asked God to stay out of our schools and government. He is. I think it's high time we beg Him to come back into our schools, our government, and our lives. We can ill afford to continue with our heads in the sand. There in lies the only hope for the future of the United States. I would appreciate the prayer support of our good neighbors to the North just as Moses recieved the support of his friends! Now that is off my chest, so have yourselves a good Sunday mornin'.

I agree wholeheartedly but let us also realize that if we do not push this issue with our congressmen we will get no where with it. We need to get very vocal. That is one way that we have lost those rights. The people pushing that agenda are the squeaky wheels that are getting the oil. Good conversation topic when talking to candidates for the fall election.

Yes, our schools need to hear us when they schedule activities on Sunday, when the "Winter Festival" arrives, they need to know this is a CHRISTmas Program, and songs should reflect that, that prayer is appropriate, not just at graduation, but anytime, our voices need to be heard at the polling place, in the halls of Congress and at the White House. It needs to be evident to the world that we indeed are a "Christian" nation!

I have another thought on this. Why are our rights as Christians and believers being trampled on while the rights of the non-belivers being protected? They have the right to not listen/participate etc. but if any mention of God or the pledge to the flag is not allowed, then our rights are being taken away. Am I wrong?
