July 17, 2010 is the day my youngest daughter got married. Guess what occupied our week? Yeah, we are bushed! She married a great young fella. I hate to admit it, but times change, and I am not as qualified to be the #1 guy in her life as he is. Marriage is a wonderful relationship or a miserable one. The ideal is a wonderful relationship, and it has been a great blessing to me and my spouse, as I am sure many of you relate to. I am blessed to see my girls enjoy their marriage relationship. This is the relationship that we have on this earth that is most like the relationship that God desires to have with us. I think marriages begin to deteriorate when someone begins to see their spouse as a source of problems rather than a helper in dealing with problems. We need to be careful to always see God as our helper and guide, and this will go a long ways toward a healthy spiritual relationship with our Savior. God is not a source of our troubles, and it is a mistake to see Him as such. The other thing to note is that this is a relationship that both parties must work at and maintain, or it will fall apart. What do you do to nurture your relationship with God? Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin' and a great rest of the week.
