This site is for ranchers. We have a common goal, but a variety of problems to deal with. Some of us fight the snow, some the dust. Some of us plant trees and shrubs, others of us try to kill trees and shrubs. Some of us run cows per acre; others talk about a thousand acres per cow. All of us work to use and maintain or improve our resources so as to place the fatted calf on someone's dinner plate. The Lord calls us to perform a variety of tasks, whether ranching, trucking, working for the power company, insurance industry, law enforcement, retail sales, plumbers, firemen or you fill in the blank. But we are to do it in such a way as to add value to the lives of others. In the process, we are to represent Christ in our little corner of our world. We are the only bible some people are reading. It ain't what we are so much as who we are that is of value to our fellow man and to our Lord. Well, that's my thought for the day. Have a good Sunday mornin' and a fine rest of the week.

I am afraid that is a troublesome thought as well. We can be a good influence but inversely a spotlight on our lives is a huge responsibility that we often take to lightly. Thank you for holding our feet to the fire Shortgrass.

Thanks, Shortgrass, for not having any "zeimers" this week, not part or all, and for remembering to put up Good Sunday Mornin'. It is always such a great way for those of us inhabiting Ranchers.Net to start our week. :-)

I saw some fine looking Charolais cattle yesterday on the Sandhills Cattle Association's annual Ranch Tour. Sure thought of you and those nice white cattle in your pictures while seeing these.

Thanks Shortgrass. Your message reminds me of 1 Cor 12: 4-11 The folks here at ranchers all have different gifts, but the same spirit. Different forms of service, but the same Lord who is over all of us.

No church here this weekend because of weather. As I post this I'm watching Dr Charles Stanley. He is one of the few down to earth preachers on TV I like to watch.
