Well, I missed a couple of weeks. We took two grandsons on a trip. We saw Cabela's just to start off on the right foot, Black Hills, Great Falls (yes, Charlie Russell museum also), Glacier, Missoula Smoke Jumpers, Lolo Pass, Lemhi Pass, Yellowstone and home. I enjoyed seeing the Salmon River area. This is the famed "River of No Return." It was called that because if one chooses to raft the canyon, there is no changing your mind and walking out. Life in general and the Christian's life is that way. As the song goes, "I have decided to follow Jesus, No Turning back, no turning back." For the Christian, we must look ahead; there is no turning back, only the future. What a great future it is! Who on earth would want to go back! I'm in it for the long haul; how about you? Have a good Sunday mornin', and God Bless.

You had quite a trip and got to see a lot of country. Your grandsons will have a multitude of fond memories of being with their grandparents. Glad you're back, because we've missed our Sunday Mornin' thought-provoking message. You have been very faithful of being in it "for the long haul," and we greatly appreciate your efforts.

Thank you for that inspirational message, Shortgrass, and also thanks Soapweed for your comments. It's a great way to start my Sunday morning.

We are having church services on Saturday nights to give the other three congregations in our parish the opportunity to try other time slots this summer and it is working out ok, but I do miss the routine of Sunday morning church.

Shortgrass, your great message dovetails well with our pastors message last night. She did note that maybe she is watching too much TV news and CSPAN comment, and pointed out the frightening times our nation is experiencing these days. She emphasized the fact that our leaders are dangerously ignoring, even denying the fact that our 'Founding Fathers' based our Constitution upon biblical teachings. And that those insightful men understood that our freedoms and rights are a gift of God, NOT government!

Where the two messages meet is that we Christians need not be fearful in these fearful times because we have eternal life with Christ in our future, no matter what happens in this world.

She also pointed out that we need to be responsible citizens and help to get our nation back on the right track through prayer and responsible citizenship, while we still have the God given freedoms to do so!
