Got to Love competition!

They do not call Tim Bullick crazy Tim for nothing. He actually owns a couple liquor stores in Red Deer and Innisfail called Crazy Tim's so he had a reputation before this last incident. Anyone in the Charolais business in Alberta has a Tim story. My experience is that he has plenty of experience in the Liquor store...

Was it Tim himself, or one of the kids? Does Tim even own any cattle anymore?

I think I might have experienced a time or 2 that Tim was acting "crazy", but I don't remember.

Tim sold out PCC at Stettler and moved to Bowden. He still owns some cattle with Grant farms. He doesn't have much contact with the local breeders like Dory Gerrard for example. This operation is much more show ring orientated than most.

Pretty bad deal.

reading this concerns me because of some people in 4-H down here.
Now I know what to watch for.

I'd say 99% of the people are honest, but I know the 1% that would do anything to win.

Before Agribition started the Regina Winter Faiir was the big Show. Bavk then they would pour beer into the Bulls and less harmful to the stomachs. Don't believe in that either.

Years ago we had a baby calf that wouldn't suck. After tubing it for about 3 days a guy told Dad to put 1 can of beer down it morning and night. Said the yeast or something in the beer would get it's stomach working. 3 days and a full 6pack later the calf died. Dad said that was a terrible waste of beer! Something to the effect "should have stayed in the house and drank the beer and then went and shot the calf. We both would have been better off"

I really feel the showring ruins a lot of cattle with good potential, and in this case, maybe a youngster also.

You could use beer to settle down a mean sow-they love to drink it and the new piglets can get to sucking after they pass out. Usually they settle down when they wake up.
