598 is a CA carrier and 1680 carrys AM & NH. While I could breed all my cows to both bulls for my lifetime and not get a calf with the genetic defects both bulls carry, I choose not to. Not sayin' everyone else has to do what I do. It's just a management choice on my outfit. I research to my best ability, how a bull is bred in his pedigree. If either bull shows up, I keep lookin'.

That's worth everything. The two bulls are clean, regardless of their ancestors.![]()

I know both the bulls we are discussing are clean. But they both have unclean bulls pretty close upstream. I choose not to drink that water. My choice. Ya'll do what you'd like when choosing bulls. I just decided awhile ago that I don't want the genetics that come from 1680 or 598.![]()
