Helping the Neighbor

This week I helped the other permittee gather and trail home from the forest . Luckily we found our missing cattle in with hers, so our count is now correct.

A few I found.

Beautiful fall colors .

I think once she gets these calves home, if she'd put them on some creep, they might weigh something :lol: . She and her sister always have excellent calves, but this set out of mostly hereford bulls really are spectacular .

Trailing home the next day . I think it's about 8 miles, traveling either up or down hills. At least it was a cool day without much wind .

Letting them pair-up and rest.

Must be kinda like a dream come true to be able to ride and work in country that looks like a postcard. Although it likely has its downside too at times. Thanks for the pictures.

Thanks for sharing WR. Great pics of some pretty country. Whiskey and cigars looks familiar, when we trail the neighbours cows home in the fall, his Dad follows behind in his truck, and when riders get cold they lag back, he hands the whiskey out the window, you take a snort and get back at 'er. We usually go through a bottle of Crown and one of Cherry Whiskey by the time we're home. :lol: I'm not saying how many riders that is, or how short....er...far, the ride home is. :wink:

Nice, Wyoming Rancher!!

At first, in the picture of the saddle horn, I thought
it looked like you had your riding mittens on and I thought,
"Wow, was it that cold?" But then I could tell it was
leather gloves. Whew. Don't need to get the mittens
out yet...thank God.

For those of you who may not know, riding a horse when it's
really cold using a glove liner inside mittens is the BEST way
to keep your hands warm. Anyway, I never figured out a better
way. :shock:
