hey OT - rr ties?

(I guess the 'Ace' referred to me.) :???:

Hardly.
We had some for sale. They are sold.
A friend has some for sale.
Just helping out...hope that's okay.
Just so you know, we sold ours for what we paid,
and I'm not making anything on our friends. So,
that's "just helping out" in my book. Actually, he
is asking what he paid for his. He just got a load
while he was at it and is selling the extras.

Ties in town are $12.50 and these for $8.50 are better...FWIW
But '76 would have to need a lot to pay for the trip down here.

Oh, they are a bit east of Lewistown. About 300 miles...
If he wasn't so busy, he'd probably meet you there.
They really are nice ties, the ones that are rounded on two sides.

Whew, jigs. I was afraid I did something wrong,
hence the 'Ace'...glad that wasn't the case!

does anyone over there sell rr ties cheap

Call my old college compadre- cattle buyer- horse trader- whatever- trader Ken Stahl (406) 654-1661 in Malta... The last time they took the ties out of here a year or so ago he was the broker for them....

At the time they were tearing them out- I think the price was a couple dollars a tie ...Everybody loaded up with truckloads...

If he has none - the only place I know is Markles Inc. 228-9367- that I know have some, but I'm not sure they are cheap- as they are making money off the ones they bought from Kenny-- but knowing Kenny if you give him a week or so- he may be able to find them for a little commission  ...

The last time I was in Shelby, probably over a year ago there was a heck of a stack of them by the fair grounds. Who ended up with them?
I have seen an ad for Steel etc. in Great Falls for having some??
Still putting in some ties, but most aren't worth a _____ .
Putting in more 2 7/8 pipe. I am also getting lazy and don't like the tamping. The problem all of us were used to just putting in a few now and then, now it is no longer just a few.

Yep getting to be the same here...Besides ties--I'm relacing old cedar and diamond willow posts that Grandpa put in 50-60-70 years ago... Its almost hard to believe how well they lasted.....

The ties I've got that Kenny had for sale a year ago were really in good shape...I'm not sure if he was the broker for whoever bought them over west or not- seems like they sell them for a certain distance.....
