We seem to have a million starlings, also alot more sparrows than we need. Anyone have a good way to get rid of them? The starlings roost in the lilacs. We have quail and huns that come in the yard so don't want to kill them.

Well, I'll tell ya what I did Nicky. Mr. FH said it wouldn't work, but it did.
I just took a gun (.22) and shot at them as they flew around...did that a few times (never hit one, didn't really intend to) but they sure did leave. He was amazed...

One thing about it, it doesn't cost much to find out... :D

I think I could tolerate the starling & sparrows better'n those danged feral pigeons,I swear I never seen anything that can crap like that, every piece of equipment I have is .................well no sense gettin into a rant, but no I dont know how to get rid of starlins, seems like ever thing with feathers is some kinda problem.
good luck

We had about 6 pigeons in the barn. I could shoot a few in the old barn but didn't want to ventilate the new one. We went out after dark and locked them in the new barn and took a flashlight to spot them then we could knock them down and clobber them. Once cleaned out they some times don't come back for quite a while. Seems like if one gets away it brings it's friends back.
