It takes a bit more time...but since I retired ( @ 39 yrs of age 6 yrs ago!!) I have the time, so it all works out!

Um what did you do to retire at 39? And are they hiring? :P :D

yeah...sign me up, too!! right now, the hubby and i are on the "ranchers' retirement program"....meaning, work til we die!!!

We are still calving out (ALMOST DONE) only about 24 left to go but this year we have (so far) 90% bulls and not many heifers. This was the year we were going to keep all of our heifers also. :?

I did have a set of twins 1 bull and 1 heifer - someone told we that the heifer would never be able to produce calves.

2 bulls will produce
2 heifers will produce
but
1 bull 1 heifer and the heifer would be no good
Does anyone know if this is true????

We're getting somewhere close to 30 sets of twins so far, including all of them that had 1 or both dead. When the weather was crappy and we were really busy and completely out of barn space I just about had decided (not seriously) that if a second calf popped out of another I was gonna knock the little b****** in the head...understand how sleep deprivation can make one very cranky and impatient at times.

Haystack.....LOVING that horse pic!!! Is that yours or just an avatar you picked up somewhere along the way???

Reminds me of my old QH that I had to put down.....brought a tear to my eye!!!
