Just wondering if anyone else is noticing a huge bird population this year, as well as ones that you really do not see that often.

We have ton of Orioles that don't seem to be scared of anything and are actually using their feeders by the windows which they have never done before. They usually just pass on through but now are staying ..

As well we have a flock of rose breasted gross beaks that have never been here before that set up camp in my choke cherry tree. Very pretty birds and I had to look them up in my bird book as I had never seen them before.

The water fowl is crazy and some very colorful ducks that I have never seen before and am still trying to identify ;as well as the kill dears which usually do not come around here.

It sure is nice to see and listen to them, also saw a moose cow on the home quarter yesterday which I haven't seen on here for a few years now.

Ya gotta love country life.. :D

Lots of ducks and starlings around here.
I think it was the winter before we saw some artic birds we had never seen before. I had to look them up in my bird book.

More and wider variety of ducks and waterfowl than ever, tons of geese, many species of warblers, waders, great horned owls with nests and chicks, snowy owls, more hawks than I ever remember, ravens/crows/blackbirds, swallows and for the first time in years some red wing blackbirds (still have not seen any yellow breasted blackbirds).

We haven't had a real rain for some time. We got a tenth last weekend.
It's windy today, and we have chances for thunderstorms every evening.

We only worry when it stops raining. :P

I'm sorry. I hijacked this thread.
Carry on.

Fh..... I now send you all our rain for the next two weeks...Enjoy... we have such a mess here....

Thanks for your rain wishes for us, Daylan.
Big thunderstorm rolled in here yesterday evening and the
water works started. It went on most of the night and today we
have 2.3" in the rain gauge.
And no one ran to the barn!!

Nice morning, this morning. We were supposed to get big
wind today. I hope this forcast is outdated as it is nice and quiet
outside right now.
