The oxen are big old beasts.

The super moon looks mighty big.

Singing around the campfire

And a square dance is in progress

The moon lights up the camp.

A mother is reading bedtime stories to her kids, saying their prayers, and tucking them in

On the far side of the camp

Wake up time comes early

But the Indians have gotten up earlier

The moon and the Indians

They seem restless and on the warpath.

This was an impressive moment live at the scene.

They are on the move.

They are circling the wagons so fast it is just a blur.

One wagon is set on fire.

The grand exit is paused for a moment

For the owner of the oxen to propose to his sweetie (for real).

He raises his hat in excitement when she accepts.

Some of the fleeing Indians swarm the grandstand

The chief and a pretty pale-faced gal

He is the nephew of one of my longtime good friends.

This young man has a grandmother who is almost a neighbor of ours.
