After the vet came and pulled out the quills, here is what it looked like. Dr. Teresa did a whale of a good job..

My colt....

Nice colt, Katrina!! I really like the looks of him.
I love stiped hooves. Usually they are the best for being tough.
Someone told me that once, and we've found it to be true. The
more stripes the better, even.

Do you ever call your vet "Mother Teresa?"

I bet that porcupine has a headache, at the very least.
:P (Thinking the colt may have pawed him good.)

Dixie, (the dog) got into a porcupine the other day. Really got a
mouthful of quills. Mr. FH gave her some Rompum and got them all
out. Then a few days later, she was swelled up clear down into
her throat. I checked her mouth and she had broke a tooth off somehow. She might have learned something, because she hasn't had
any more trouble. (She needs to keep her nose to herself.)

Boy that is a fine looking colt.I have never had any dealings with a a porcupine. We don't have them in lower Alabama.By the looks of them I'm glad that we don't.

fh, Theresa is a mom too.... She and her husband have a little girl the same age as our youngest.... Theresa is a neighbor girl to hubby, so we have a special one!!! Don't ya just hate procipines!!! Our dog got into one two years or so ago and I took hime to Theresa's and she knocked him out and we pulled quills... Ameego was real relaxed and was stinking.. We were trying to decide what was worse dog farts or dirty diapers.. We both exclaimed " dirty dieapers."
Porcipines are really dirty so I have been giving a huge amount of pen to my colt. He sure is a good sport.. All the swelling is almost gone and he feels real good... A little gimpy yet though.

Thanks Frank.
He is my favorite... His daddy is a stud out of North Dakota called Lucky to Be Gold. And his mamma is a Spot Cat by Quincey Joe. Brian Fulton has the mare now.... Called her Preciouse and she sure is!!!

Nice colt Katrina,we've had a couple horses with "Gold" breeding, nice dispositions. We had a little filly that got to close to a pork, her nose got full of quills. Greg had a heck of a time getting them out.We were inbetween vets, and the closest was a small animal vet over an hour away. :?
