Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear: The 2010 Sale
The Second Annual Ranch Horse Sale was held the first Saturday of June, 2010, about 10 days ago. This year, we had a better idea what to expect and we had a good turnout at the Powderhorn location.
We offered 71 head of horses for sale, 47 of them from the Diamond-McNabb partnership and 24 from invited consignors. At the end of the day, all horses had a new home as we did not have any "no-sales."
This year's average sale price was about $6,425 (last year was about $5,850). An indicaton of price ranges:
■Razberry, a 3 year old red roan filly, $1,750
■Sharpie, a 3 year old paint gelding, $2,200
■Ruger, a 10 year old red roan gelding, $18,000
■Dusty, a 5 year old dun gelding, $18,500
About 400 people attended this event, and horses were sold to buyers from 19 different states. Thank you for coming, and best wishes for enjoying your new horse!
