last american cowboys

Fh...I wondered why there were no calves in the Galt bunch too. Even said it outloud while we were watchin.

Also about the lead cow.....I kept sayin.....lead cows usually just assume their position. Don't they....??? ours do. LOL We've had several over the past years. Even tho we don't drive them far...it's always the same one's in front. Bless his wifes heart. I feel for her...I really do. Scott keeps sayin they both have a lot to learn. I'm wonderin if he didn't spend alot of time on the ranch growin up? Not that it's a bad thing...just wonderin that's all. LOL I think he could take lessons from Soapweed in doin things a lil slower......we all know slower is faster in the long run.

And once again..the Stuckey outfit....they just do things quietly calmly....and get the job done without a whole lotta hoopla. Loved it when she had the baby in the stroller.....and said...."He's sleepin" lol

Also..I was under the impression that this was a 4 part series. And like you Fh I heard that it'll be on again next week. Maybe the response has been really good...they'd said if it was that they'd make it a regular series.

We noticed that lack of calves when "going to spring pasture", as well as the fact there was NO grass growing and snow on the ground, and wondered what those cattle were going to eat for the next few weeks till grass came......so the least that was missing was informing the public that there was some other provision for the welfare of those cows.

There were quite a few things overall which just would not work in our severe SD winters, tho we are generally able to graze cows all winter unless we are in a drought, or grass gets covered with deep snow for a long while.

It is interesting and hopefully will generate some good questions. I just hope there will be someplace for those questions to be answered available on the channel.
