Long Time Coming!!!

We just finished up the Hardisty rodeo this weekend, and I miss it already. I'll have to post some pics when I get them together.

Congrats to Ty. Hopefully we'll see him down here in a year or two. Tell him to bring that crew down and try tamin' our wildies! We'll have a good time for sure. Have to agree about the preference for broncs - I enjoy watchin' how hard they buck compared to the bulls. Had to help one kid out of the arena for our Sunday perf. Hit the ground face down then the mare jumped on his leg. I'd say he was havin' a tough time not calling for his Momma.

I think he'll go more highschool and Novice Pro next year. Probably get a CCA card to so we don't miss any weekends. I hear the critters got out at Hardisty Saturday night lol.

Way to go Ty!!!

And, thank you NR for dedicating so much time to your kids. When you're old and feeble...they'll take good care of you instead just dumping you in a dark, cold corner of a bad nursing home! :lol2:

That picture of the three boys and their road kill prize, just made me giggle. I get such a kick out of high aged boys...they are generally such cards.

My favorite high school aged kids story took place at our local high school rodeo a couple years ago....

There were three older girls (like Jr., Sr. age) and a younger high school aged boy, I'd say a freshman...these girls were just heckling this poor  boy! He was having a growth spurt...sort of gangly, and uncoordinated looking. Both his hands and feet were huge compared to the rest of his body, and it appeared he was pretty long legged and armed.

After quite a bit of heckling on how big his feet were, how he was walking on skis, etc., the boy finally says..."You know what they say about guys with big feet?!?" At this point in time, he's pretty proud of himself...and is kinda puffed up a like a prairie chicken.

One of the older girls shoots right back, "Yeah, they wear bigger boots!" Poor kid...that ol' gal knocked the wind right outta his sails!

I was just quietly howling.

I still chuckling when thinking about that.... :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Again, great job Ty, and thanks for sharing the photos Dad.

Cheers---

TTB

Yeah I had five 16/17 year olds travelling with me this weekend an adventure to say the least-I wouldn't trade a minute iof it for anything-this time passes by pretty fast. We had a jr. steer rider travelling with us when they got that chicken he was just giggling his head off said 'You guys are my heroes'-some role models huh lol.

NR, how'd you hear about our critters getting out? It was pretty comical really, but it coulda been ugly. Some wise-acre let the doggin' and ropin' steers out as they were stumbling home from the beer gardens. I got there at 7 on Sunday morning for our 8am slack, and noticed some fresh cow pies on the road. I went to the concession to grab some of the 4H club's pancake breakfast, and one of our rodeo committee guys said there were 12 steers on the driving range at the golf course when he came in, so he pushed them down the road to his acreage and put them in with his horses. The others had ran right through town! Left a trail of patties from the gas station to the acreages on the south end of town, so they were easy to track. Fun, fun, fun! Wouldn't be a rodeo weekend without having some action outside the infield, right?

OK, now I remember. All those boys had their hands full with our "JR Steers". They were half-Limo heifers from David Hays. Last years July born calves that never saw a human till the fall gathering. They were turnin' themselves upside down in those chutes, and nuttier than a squirrel turd when the gates opened. Problem with them is they can get a kid hurt in the chute.
