My goodness. This could really be a fun thread.
My hats:
I worked for the Game and Fish in Wyoming for awhile, so I had a G&F hat. Wouldn't wear one any more though, just don't agree with their policies~or that of Montana or SD either~
My most current cap would be a Vigortone Ag Products one, of course. But then I would have to wear a newspaper hat too, as I work at a newspaper and have since 1977. That hat is getting worn pretty thin.
I have been a licensed Livestock Dealer. That hat was only worn for a short time, though. And it was interesting while it lasted. Decided I wasn't made of tough enough stuff for that job, though. Those guys really earn their living, let me tell you.
I've worn a horse trader's cap, too. And that was really a lot of fun. We dealt with a good guy and we were sending horses all over the place~sometimes sight unseen because we stood behind the horses. Good horses, met good people and it was great fun. Had a fellow come from California to buy horses that modeled Levis and Wrangler jeans. We stopped at a convenience store in Helena to gas up. When we went inside the woman at the counter said to me, "Is that your husband?" I said, "No. Why?" She said, "that is the best looking man I have ever seen!" He was a really nice guy to boot. He heard her, and his face was still red when we got back in the pickup to leave. We spent three days looking at 28 horses~He was most interesting. He ranched between some big cities in California and he said you would never know his country was anywhere around. This was about the time one of the first radical animal-rights groups were meeting in Montana. He told us we sure didn't want them here. I can't remember if it was PETA or not. Anyway he told us about car bombings and more that they were responsible for in California. Well, good old Montana~they wound up with their headquarters in Missoula. If no one else wants 'em, Montana will take 'em. Especially Missoula or Bozeman.
I really enjoyed my hat as a Roping Club Secretary and Team Roping Announcer. I had fun doing some of the State Finals for the USTRC.
And then there is all the hats a ranchwife, mother and grandmother wears~many different colors of them for sure.
Gosh, I was kinda bummed today but now I feel much better. I've had more fun than should be allowed!! Thanks for the idea! I am looking foreward to reading about other hats!!
