All this when all I wanted todo was help a young guy find a job!!
haven't got my Ag weekly yet it usually has a few job listings ,seem that the potatoe cellers are always looking for sorters.

There's a job for a Buckaroo.

Especially one that is so proud to pick up a shovel or fix a fence that he's been scrubbing dishes and slinging hash.

LTB2, there are lots of outfits out there desperately looking for help, me included. I've seen your ad, the last person I'm going to hire is some prima donna that tells me what he won't do instead of what he can do.

I for one am sorry I hyjacked the thread...
There are a couple sites that list ag jobs in Idaho just do a search.
Good luck to the young man

Maybe there is one thing he can learn from this thread......LOL

how will he go to school, rodeo and work as well? if our guys want to rodeo on their weekend off thats fine, and are told right up front they won't get every weekend off so don't bother asking...

That will be between him and whoever he works for won't it? Kelly will give a good recommendation Yanuck if your curious-he's known him for years.

I'm not curious at all....and that's great he can get good rec's, but to be quite frank, I don't know many ranches that don't work weekends, I guess its all how you prioritize, your wants vs needs...

Not sure how some of these threads go so hay wire? This is a good solid kid from a hard working family. Seems like some of you folk get a real kick out of hacking and snipping. I suggest that if you can help out, do it. If not, stick to your knitting.

A little humor , A man hired on here with an old time rancher . After 2 weeks the hired man came to the rancher & said I quit .The rancher asked him why he was quiting . The hired man said you said I would have full time employment & there is nothing to do between midnight & 4 AM .

Good luck of your job hunt . Good hands are hard to find .

I worked for one of those outfits as a kid I think lol.
The Wyoming Department of Employment, Division of Labor Standards claimed a small Rancher was not paying proper wages to his help and sent an agent out to investigate him...

Government agent: "I need a list of your employees and how much you pay them."

Rancher: "Well, there's my hired hand who's been with me for 3 years. I pay him $200 a week plus free room and board.

Then there's the mentally challenged worker. He works about 18 hours every day and does about 90% of all the work around here. He makes about $10 per week, pays his own room and board, and I buy him a bottle of bourbon every Saturday night so he can cope with life. He also occasionally sleeps with my wife.

Government agent: "That's the guy I want to talk to . . . the mentally challenged one.

Rancher: "That would be me."
