They took a bit literary license with the history. It wasn't quite those outlaws that were still in the country when we came here but the ranch was operating in those time.

Part 1

If you start at this video and follow thru the videos I think to 7 you should be able to see the whole show. Just watch for the ones posted by "Mantrackerfan" or you will get parts posted by others.

Mantracker rode my favorite horse and I rode my back up. He was rough and i had to keep holding him back as I was to ride slightly behind the MAN.
It was all filmed on our ranch except for a couple of scenes just across the fence and the Hamilton scenes of course.

Tam fed ALL the crew very well. She fed them 22 pies in 10 days. Don't get between Mantracker and his Banana Cream..

It was a family affair. Tam fed the crew breakfast, packed lunches and had supper waiting when they got back. My daughter was the producers assistant, chauffeuring him through the pastures so he could set up his big camera($60,000) lens for the scenic shots and helping out where needed. He started calling her Radar because she was anticipating what he needed.
My son and I were sidekick/guides. I helped out a bit with logistics on the second show as it rained a bunch between shootings.

I often wondered when you guys where lookin for the prey cant you see the camera guys that are with them?So wouldnt you just look for the cameras and see the prey?

Two men ran with the prey. The are seasoned adventure racers that know their job. I don't remember seeing the camera men before the prey. My son thought he would just watch for the cameramen but was amazed at how little you saw them.

watched episode 1 & 2 .................good stuff, but i hafta say, your badlands dont look all bad so far.................good luck

The ranch looked pretty nice when the shot that. It was the last week of May for mine and the first week of June for Lane's. It rained 3 inches on the day between the episodes.

That's good stuff Big muddy, that mantracker had it made with all that good hospitality you and Miss Tam showed him & crew, just thinking about those banna cream pies makes me hungry,my favorite.
Did you learn anything about trackin you didnt already know ?
good luck

I think my son and I both were pretty much up on our skills as Mantracker. Mostly the key was to be observant. Might have been different if we had been in the bush but we were on home territory. That helps.

I just finished watching both your's & your son's episodes. Great, entertaining shows! Nice lookin' horses, your favorite horse would be mine as well. That's sure interesting country you ranch in and looks like good grass country to boot.

So what is man tracker like in real life?Is he a nice guy to be around off camera?

Mantrack is a very nice guy as is the whole crew. We really enjoyed having them on the ranch. I have to admit though I don't ever remember a time when so much wine and beer was served. Every night the producer provided wine for supper which lead to joke telling and a lot of laughing. Then at the wind up parties from both episodes he provided the wine and beer which lead to Shifty the one eyed camera man serenading us with a ukulele wearing a big sombrero

It was a time we will long remember.

So there was no sleepin out under the stars and rain and such huh? He and the guides went home for the night?(back to main camp)..On all the shows it shows them by a campfire havin coffee..And the prey got to sleep out in whatever kind of weather was tossed thier way?

LOL...I hear greg in your post....I refuse to watch Mantracker with him...he critiques the whole half hr.....to say gregs skeptical of mantrackers abilities is an understatement.....

lol mrs greg... I enjoy the show really..but i always had a few questions about the show....Maybe it is a guy thing?

Now on the other hand you take the show "survivorman" that show is so full of bunk I cant watch it..He says he is the only one there and that he has two small cams and he is takin all his own shots..So then how come on one show the camera was showing him and you could see a shadow of a guy with a big ash camera on his shoulder?

The race is only one night, The race is the race and the cameramen document it. The first day of shooting is interviews ect. The chase and then two days of pick up shots where what really happened in the chase but not caught real good on the move is "Re-enacted"to get better shots.
In my episode we went by the Three Sisters pretty fast during the chase but they wanted to show a bit more scenery. When our prey ran through the beaver dam we were in hot pursuit. They made them wade back though to get a better camera angles. :-)

Well I say mantracker can track, its easy to sit in your favorite chair and critique, let those pretty critiqueing drug store cowboys saddle up instead of rattlin their jaw,I would like to do a little trackin with ole mantracker in south texas, hell i would even supply the meskins...............good luck
