Not sure what this means but it keeps flashing across my monitor:

THE MAIN CONCERNS WITH THESE STORMS WILL BE DAMAGING WINDS, LARGE HAIL AND LOCAL HEAVY DOWNPOURS.

Moisture in any shape or form is greatly appreciated right now. Wind is blowing like crazy, and starting to spit.

We had the same warnings up here today, and it resulted in..... an incredibly hot day perfect for baling. Haven't even spotted a cloud yet.

Moisture is what turns this........

The storm didn't get here last night, and from the sounds of it, we're lucky to be dry as opposed to what happened in Camrose at the Big Valley Jamboree. Kevin Costner and his band had just finished their set, and I don't know who went on after him, but I was listening on the radio, and they announced that they were evacuating the Concert Bowl area due to the storm coming in fast with high winds and large hail. Before they could get all the people out - which was supposedly between 20-25,000 - a wind gust toppled the main stage. Killed one person and injured alot of others. No names have been released yet. Not sure if any of our friends were close to it, in it, or what. We're waiting for calls.

Greg/Mrs. Greg, your kids go up there or anyone you know?

Looks like we may get some of that stuff tonight. Boy that is a different.

Sure makes facing August a lot more promising.

The humidity is back and stifling as ever. KBTduh was forecasting temps for the coming week in the 102 - 103 range. Going to be tough since we are acclimated to more of an Arizonian type climate. Glad I no longer live in that heat trap.

Well I thought we was going to get some the other day, but I was wrong all we got was noise and lighting. I know next week is going to be tough at least I got my hay baled and put up.

All of our friends and family are safe ,thank GOD. My neighbor is still trying to locate his wife and SIL. I hope they are safe.

Mrs. G are you and yours all OK as well as all of the folks here that attend or have family and friends that attend ?

Hang tight PC the same type if storm is coming through again tonight .We had a few close calls last night with lightening strikes but thankfully they only took out the trees by the house and not the livestock or us.

The worst part for us was the little bit of shytty hay we had ready to be baled after raking blew away. :???:

So we got some more details today. Apparently Billy Currington was on stage when they called the evacuation. He got away with minor scrapes and bumps, but his drummer got a broken arm out of the deal. Kevin Costner's manager was at stage side, and he got cut up pretty bad by some flying metal. They said he ended up getting several stitches and staples on various wounds to close him up.

Near as we know, all our friends/acquaintances were alright. Some were right close to the stage, just happened to get out of the way in time. One fella from Camrose told me Kevin Costner was treated at the hospital for some cuts, then released, but he stayed at the hospital most of the night with his manager and crew, and they figure he visited just about every patient that came in from the wreck. Helped with some, talked with others, kinda cool.

We really got hammered tonight with rain. It blew in hard and fast, dropped 9/10's in 15 mintues and cleared off to blue skies as quick as it came in. No hail, but awful strong winds.

Thats too bad about the storms and deaths and injuries...

Heres a story about Costner and video of the pandedmonium:

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b137304_kevin_costner_barely_survives_deadly.html

But I agree- this weather pattern we're getting now, that is coming out of Canada, is wierd for this time of year....
Last week we picked up an inch and half of rain in about 3 storms-- since then over the weekend its been about a .1 to .2 every day...Storm rolled over this morning and dumped .2 again...
And today at 1PM the temp is 64 degrees.. With a chance of rain and thunderstorms all week.....

Been great for the grass- and the spring wheat- both of which are still green and growing- but a little tough on the winter wheat folks trying to combine...

I did not know that Kevin Costner had a band. What does he do, sing?
Anyway, I'm glad no one was seriously hurt.

This kind of thing happened a year or two ago at the Eastern Montana
Fair in Miles City. The star attraction (I can't remember his name right now, but he needs to be recognized for his actions) was hurt and had to go to the hospital. It seems like he had a broken arm or something similar. Quick as he could, he went back to the fairgrounds and finished his show. Wanted the people to get their money's worth.

Well he thinks he's singing. He sing's worse than he acts..

Darcy....we were actually camped out at Fish Lake,I can't believe you didn't get the storm. It hit us hard!!! We plunked the kids screaming their heads off, terrified, into the trailers as we ran to save food, awnings, chairs, cowboys hats....it was mostly wind, but WHAT a wind!!!

Lots of friends and family at the jamboree,Lacey phoned and told us about the Stage and we tried all night to get a hold of both friends & family. Phone lines apparently weren't working. Pretty scary night, gregs sis has third row seats and we didn't realize the stage went back instead of forward....

Gregs sis sent a pretty graphic video from you tube that Mike from CISN took....Scary...first yr we didn't go to the BKV....

Opinions vary Denny, I kinda like Costner's stuff, singing and acting both.

Mrs Greg, when that wind came through here, it wasn't nearly as bad as some we've had in the past. It spit a few drops and that was it - real weird.

Then on Sunday, we had a higher wind for 5 minutes, and 9/10's in 15 minutes. Had another shower start @ 5 this morning gave us .2". My late July swath-grazing is looking pretty good.
