My goodness, feels like I ain't been here for a while, but I sure haven't been doing too hot on updates. Welp, I figgered to just drop in for a minute or two and make a post. Life has been very good, and thus far the sophomore year is going well. I am driving a bit more nowadays and I made the 5 hour round trip to Greeley with grandma to pick up some grass seed. This year was my first year planting a crop, and did I ever have fun doing it. Got so darn busy that I didn't get any pictures with us plowing, but Dad got a shot of the Super M and the JD seed drill. I drilled a whopping 2.5 acres of winter wheat and about 1 or 1.5 acres of dryland grass mix. But I loved it. Also, I kinda included some pictures from the entire year. Judging camp, State Conference, Iowa family reunion, cows, etc. I did my best to resize it all so that it loads in a timely manner, but I included many. Hope you enjoy.

The 2009 El Paso County judging team at state conference. The gentleman and lady sitting are my judging coach and his wife. I'm in the cap and the other 4 are teammates.
Mom and Dad also came to state conference for the awards ceremony.
Branding crew for the 2009 year.
Colorado had grass this year. Try and find the newborn calf!
Couple more grass shots. Hopefully, that new grass mix I bought will turn out similar, but with more wheat and rye grass.
Well, this year I started my own A.I. business. In fact, just now shipping out the last cows I was breeding on this year. So, I made a trip or two to Rocky Mountain Sire Services. Great people, and I loved the experience.
Of course, we still rely on bull power, and this is the first bull I have ever owned. 50% belongs to me. I hope I got the half that breeds cows!
Next are some shots of our annual family reunion in northern Iowa. We're spitting distance (with the right wind) from the Mississippi River, and I hope to one day make the farm my home.
Plenty of wood to spare, so the aunt and uncle from Nebraska took home some to burn. Uncle Mike is showing off the power of his new JD diesel gator.
That wasn't enough, so their daughter and her husband hauled home a good sized load of red elm. Uncle Mel owns a log skidder, so we played with that a little.
With my dad having 7 other siblings, I have a lot of uncles! Uncle Paul couldn't resist piling some wood on our bonfire.
Harvestore from our farm's dairy cow days. 80 feet is perty dang high.
Of course, I had to get on top and take some cellular pictures! When I figure out how to get them off my phone and on to ranchers, I will!
No 4-wheeler at home, so I used another one. We own a good bit of timber back there, and I had some fun powering over some dirt trails.
Spreading manure on next year's garden plot.
Planting in style with my boss's Super M. Heck, even have power steering.
And, for the grand finale, the Super M chugging away planting nest year's grass crop. We only reseeding a really bad spot of Spotted Napweed to see how this goes. If it works well, we'll do more next fall. Also, are there any good Napweed sprays? we heard 24D might not knock it out. Anyhow, hope you enjoyed it.
