Where I Am
I just got to thinking that you all have heard about when I wrote my first check. Well, I figured I'd give you all an update on what's goin on in my life as of late.

A 4 hour driver safety orientation and the same amount of time at the DMV and I now have a card that says I can legally drive. Got an awful picture of me that makes me look a little like a convict. But, thanks to that baby, I've been cruising all over town. I now have to hold this permit for 12 months and next September, I can get me a license.

At one point and time, I was looking at how to register a company name. Thanks to my debit card, MYT Farms is now registered to do business in Colorado. The reason I got on the ball? I officially run a custom A.I. and cattle business. :D I included a picture of my "hot off the press" business card. Copying this logo or name without my written consent is strictly prohibited.

Heyyyyyyy, pretty darn attractive cards.

One little thing, and it 's too late now--but take it from
a 30-year advertising person--next time have them turn that
bull so he FACES the copy on the card. (leads your eye into
your info instead of off the card). Same way with advertising
in a paper or magazine, the cut (picture) should lead your eye
into the message not into the next add or off the page.

I'm kinda surprised the person who did the set up for the
cards didn't do this. :???:

Ah, I see. Actually, the guy I had do this is pretty experienced, and a perfectionist (not a cattle guy though). The reason we did it that way was so that the bull was branded on the left side. If you look close, you can see a little white MYT on his left hip. But, I could easily have him switch that around. Thanks for the comment, I'm pretty tickled myself.

Congratulations MYT!! It takes a lot of guts to jump out there and start a new business. I wish you all the best. Sounds like an exciting venture!

Lemme tell ya, it has been a wild ride already. I figured out this year that running other folk's cows is a tall order. And some kick! Lol, I bred some ropin heifers for a guy, and they kicked like a couple of sour mules. But I enjoyed the heck out of it and look forward to doing more.

Be careful MYT! A few Red-Neck girls in your car will make it hard to stay focused.

Heh, for the first six months it has to be Mom, Dad, grandma, or someone like an aunt or uncle in the passenger seat. Even after that, it has to be some one over 21 "with a valid drivers license". Finally, the first six months of my license, it's the same deal. After I turn 17 at the second six months of having my license, then ONE friend my age. Boy, they sure have it all figured out, don't they?

Congrats on the business. Nice cards.
Your drivers licence experience makes me feel old. When I got my learner's at 14 it was basically a licence for gravel roads, and be careful, the right "over 21 year old" could make focusing difficult too.

oh very good young man, you will succeed, with your enthusiasm things will be positive. I got my drivers license when I was 15, wow them first couple vehicles got into some mischief in town!!! they have bad judgement when distracted for sure. Beware of the ranchers daughters dad!

Wow, thanks to all you guys. I really appreciate the kind words of encouragement. This is certainly my passion, and I love it. :)

You sound like you've got it all figured out! And good for you. It's kids like you that will keep agriculture alive in the future after our ancestors and us have tried so hard to keep it there.

You sure have some funky drivers license rules. All I had to do is take a test. Pass you have a license, fail you don't. Good luck!
