So sorry to hear about the accident. Of course, my prayers will be added to the rest. We know from personal experience, that they can be answered. Here's praying for your own personal miracle.

Wednesday update:
I was mistaken in my previous update about them not giving him any medication. They were givin him somethin that basically was a paralysis drug, to keep him still. Theyv'e had his body temperature lowered now for almost a week. Down between 90 and 95 degrees, the paralysis meds were to keep him from shivvering. Tomorrow the are supposed to start warming his body back up to normal temperature. Hopefully he won't have fever. But it's highly possible because the pneumonia he was fighting before the accident is at it again. And he also has an infection where they have a tube in his side to release air that was trapped in his body cavity. They are supposed to take that tube out tomorrow, and also do the trachiatomy to put his air and feed tubes in, instead of them being in his mouth. They are hoping now that they are taking him off the paralysis meds that he may come around. But no signs so far of that happening.
The oldest daughter is goin to school. We are kinda all taking turns, with getting her there and back. The youngest is stayin with her other granny. But she's about wore out. I"m supposed to take her to daycare Friday so that she can have a break. I'd love to keep her, but they want her in daycare, because they hafta pay for it whether she's there or not. Mother in Law, and his wife are still spending all the daylight hours at the hospital. I know they want to be there, but that's so tiring sitting there in the waitin room day in and day out.
We appreciate all your prayers. You all on ranchers are like a big extended part of our family. I haven't met many of you at all....but your some awesome folks!!!!

Saturday Update:
Well yesterday they finally did the trachiatomy, to get the oxygen tube and feeding tube out of his throat. They say maximum time limit to have those in is 14 days. Yesterday was exactly 2 weeks since the accident. If they leave the tubes down the throat too long, the tissues start growing around them, and therefore damage can happen to your vocal cords. Yesterday morning I talked to MIL at 9:30 am and they were ready to start, yesterday evening at 5:30 they finally finished getting everything removed and hooked back up thru the trach.
Dr's are saying that the paralysis meds they had him on could take a week or so to wear off. So they aren't lookin for him to come too for a while yet. Other than that, his pressures are still stayin in the normal range. Still waiting on the dye test to be done. Just waiting now.

Just thought you'd all wanna know. Today I didn't get to go to the hospital. I had to take Lil Lilly in for an eye exam, and new contacts. Mr Lilly spent most of the day over there, along with 4 high school buddies that drove in today, and the rest of the family. The nurses told them that they'd had to do somethin, I don't know what, but had jostled him around quite a bit like..changin bed covers or somethin. The whole time they were movin him around he had his right hand doubled up in a fist. When they got him all settled and HE GAVE THEM THE THUMBS UP sign.....So we are all pretty excited about that. He has lots of eye movement, but has yet to open them, but flutters his eye lashes and you can tell his eyes are rollin around. He's taking more and more breaths on his own, They'll soon be weaning him off the ventilator. They are talking about moving him to a rehab center. I'm sure not before he comes to, but soon after. Keep those prayers comin ya'll......

He's still remaining stable. He is running some fever since they did the trachiatomy and put the feeding tube in his side. But other than that. All his pressures are staying at about 14. They've cut his respirator down to 9 breaths a minute (from 14) and he's taking up to 24 a minute.
We were told this weekend that his regular neuro dr was gone. And his associate stepped in to take care of him. The associate gave him a small dose of the paralysis drug. Probably just to make sure that nothing exciting happened while the other dr was off duty. :? This young dr only has 4 years in the field, the other one has 30. Mr Lilly said he prolly was scared that he'd wake up while the main dr was off, and the young one wouldn't know what all to do. I haven't gotten to talk to anyone this morning at the hospital, but we'll get a full report probably after the 2 pm visitation.
After we go put out hay for the cows this afternoon, I'll be goin to pick up their daughter after school. So we won't get to go to the hospital today.

As of yesterday, he puked on one of his nurses....we don't know why. LOL He's still unconcious. But they don't have him on any medications to control his ICP pressures because they are staying normal. But....he his having some kidney problems. They said they are acting like they are shutting down, but that could be a reaction to all the medications he's been on in the past couple weeks, or....that part of his brain hasn't "woke up" ??? I haven't talked to Mother In Law yet this morning, usually wait til Mr Lilly gets home at 1:30pm and we call her then and get an update, then later on in the evening. Will let ya'll know more when we know more, Keep up the prayers. Thanks ya'll
Thanks for keeping us updated!! The puking on the nurse brought back a funny memory when I had done something wrong with the foley tube and sprayed urine all over my face. All I could do was keep my eyes and mouth shut till my assistant could wipe my face. The hardest part was keeping my mouth shut!!! LOL Take care, Feeder
