I like it!! Wish I could find something like that down this way. So, all you have to do now is walk into the basement and hook-up the water and electrical? Like the pup too!

Is that a foam block basement?

We built our whole house from that just love it. Warm and quiet. :D

Those must be some clumsy doors . . .

Nice house! Oversize load hardly says it though on the road!

Thanks. We are pretty excited. Basement floor is going in today.
Foam basement, r40 walls, r60 ceiling, triple pane glass on the North side, double on the south. The house is aimed southwest, with the short wall and no windows on the side with the prevailing winds.
They are pouring basement today. The underfloor insulation and pipes went in yesterday. I just have to do the stairs, a bit of framing, drywall, and get the wires into the house.

My son is about to transfer and needs a house. He looked at moving a 1000 sq. ft RTM in and was quoted 30 K for a concrete basement. How does a basement made of those styro-blocks compare, in your opinion?
I must be getting old, as I thought 30K for that size of basement was shocking. Back in the old days.....!

OH NO we got some automatic doors from a old Walmart. They work fine but open up every time a critter walks up.

The blocks are WAY better. r40 insulation value (a plus in SK) and you use less concrete. It is also pretty easy to run electrical, etc.
The one thing we found out is the basement has to be drywalled before we can move in. Something to do with fire protection.
30K is not too bad if it includes the floor. We will be just over 35K if you include the beam and teleposts, windows, and the in floor heat tubes with underslab insulation.
