With my wife being sick this winter and taking care of her and the kids. Haven't had a chance to go out and call any coyotes all winter. Today while waiting for lunch to get ready much to my surprise just out the window of the house stands mr wile e getting a drink from a puddle of melted snow. So I grab the rifle find some shells and grabbing some shoes just as I hear our 7 year old yell there are three of them. Now the pet hens are out in the yard doing some "grazing" as its nice out so this is an important mission now. I was excited to show my skills in front of the whole family right out the window. So I sneak out and around find my spot and go to blast the first one. He's stopped broadside at 100 yards or so. This is going to be easy so I guess I was woried about coyote number two cause didn't draw a single hair when I fired. He darts sideways and out of safe shooting lane. So I move to number two he's loping straight away at 150 should be another easy shot. You guessed it another miss. Now there isn't any fur in site but I guess I scared them off anyway. Now to add insult to injury the three year old little girl asked as I come back in with my tail between my legs "what happened? You missed all of them!!!" I'm blaming it on the scope being sited in. At least we had a little excitement today. Maybe next time.
